Self Ligating Brackets

These brackets, made of stainless steel, incorporate the interactive "smart" clip. This new technology has less friction and allows for more efficient and comfortable tooth movement. Use of this bracket may reduce treatment time, and due to longer time between appointments, can result in a significantly lower number of appointments (office visits) during treatment.

Invisalign

A new system available for adults for orthodontic correction of some bite problems. The Invisalign system is a series of clear overlay templates (called aligners) that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Please ask us if you are a candidate for Invisalign.

Digital Imagery

Replacing film-based dental x-ray of yesteryear with the newest innovation in digital radiography. The DenOptix digital radiography system reduces radiation requirements for pano/ceph orthodontic x-ray images and allows for better communication with your general dentist. Patients can be reassured that Dr. Gau and her staff are taking every step to protect them from excess radiation exposure.

Kodak Orthotrak Orthodontic Software

In November 2006, Orthodontic Specialists made the commitment to move our orthodontic data to Orthotrak software. We feel that this is the best software package available. Its' benefits are too numerous to mention, but in the clinic alone it permits patient log in and in-house tracking, increasing efficiency and reducing patient visit times significantly.

Sterilization and Cleanliness

We maintain the highest standard of sterilization techniques, using two sterilization units. Our sterilization is independently monitored by an outside service.
